Feeding Programs

Our Program

In Greater New York, The Salvation Army is on the front lines of addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity. Through a multifaceted approach, we strive to combat hunger and provide essential support to our community. In the year 2022 alone, we proudly served 5.5 million meals to children and adults, a testament to our commitment to alleviating hunger in the region. However, the challenges have only intensified in 2023, with the demand for our services sharply on the rise. All of our community centers offer a combination of soup kitchen and food pantry programs. Please visit your nearest community center for food assistance.

Trish's Story

Trish, a volunteer at one of The Salvation Army's soup kitchens loves serving its guests. It touches her heart to see a smile across their faces as she
hands them meals that have the potential to make or break their day.

"Even if it's just lunch for an hour, we're going to treat our guests like customers at the best restaurant in the city."
