Spiritual Healing and Worship

With an unwavering commitment to doing good, both locally in Greater New York and around the world, we find our ultimate inspiration in the teachings of Jesus Christ. As a church, The Salvation Army warmly welcomes all of God's children to rejoice in the wonder of His creation. We believe that every person who enters our doors is deserving of salvation, and it brings us great joy to share the transformative teachings of Our Lord with those who are unfamiliar with them.

Our Beliefs

We firmly believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were divinely inspired, serving as the sole guide for Christian faith and practice.
We hold that there is only one infinitely perfect God, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, who alone deserves our religious worship.
We embrace the concept of the Trinity, acknowledging the undivided essence and co-equal power and glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus Christ, we recognize the perfect union of the Divine and human natures, affirming His true and proper divinity and humanity.
We understand that our first parents were created in a state of innocence, but their disobedience resulted in the loss of purity and happiness. As a consequence, all humanity became sinners, completely depraved, and justly deserving of God's wrath.
We firmly believe that through His suffering and death, Jesus Christ made atonement for the entire world, providing salvation to all who choose to accept it.
We recognize that repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential for salvation.
We hold that justification is a result of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, and those who believe have the testimony of the Spirit within themselves.
We understand that maintaining a state of salvation requires ongoing faithful obedience to Christ.
We believe that all believers have the privilege of being fully sanctified, with their entire being—spirit, soul, and body—preserved blameless until the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We affirm the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment at the end of the world, the eternal happiness of the righteous, and the just punishment of the wicked.
