Through programs designed to address the mind, body and soul, we meet the needs of adults of all ages.

Our programs are specialized to help heal the mind, body and soul for adults in every stage of life.

Our services, which include adult day care centers, senior housing residences, older adult centers provide educational, spiritual and skill-based programs. There is help for veterans, community care ministries for those who are homebound or hospitalized, counseling and more. We give people a whole army of support so they are not alone.

Economic insecurity affects adults daily.

An estimated 4 out of 5 adults struggle with near-poverty, joblessness, or dependence on welfare. While much of social service work highlights families and children, the “invisible poor”, the adult and senior populations within communities are often forgotten.

Nutrition Programs

The Salvation Army of Camden operates a multi-site nutrition program for seniors. Services include congregate feedings and Meals On Wheels. The Salvation Army's Newark Ironbound Boys' & Girls & Seniors Center in Newark, NJ serves breakfast and lunch daily to seniors and offers many related educational and recreational activities. Drop-In Center

Every morning from 9:00 am to 1:30 PM, seniors may drop into The Ironbound Boys & Girls & Seniors Center located in Newark's Ironbound section for games, arts & crafts, fellowship, and lunch. For more information contact:

Summer Camp

All Salvation Army facilities in New Jersey offer the opportunity for Senior Camping at Camp Tecumseh, the Army's residential camp for New Jersey families. For more information, please call any Salvation Army Corps or contact:

Foster Grandparent Program

Foster grandparents are recruited senior volunteers who provide respite and supportive services to families with young children. Many of the families are grandfamilies in which the relative caregiver needs additional support. For more information, contact:

Senior Companion Program
