Salvation Army Announces New Director of Advancement
PORTLAND, Maine — The Salvation Army Northern New England Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Fogarty as its new Director of Advancement for the Division.
Fogarty, a distinguished nonprofit and foundation leader with over 25 years of experience, brings with him a wealth of experience, brings with him a wealth of experience, having held key resource development positions at leading educational institutions throughout the United States— two of these held at Maine's largest healthcare systems. He has a significant track record in advancement programs, overseeing annual and capital campaigns, planned giving initiatives, board development, donor-centric stewardship programs, and community engagement efforts. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the successful completion of the Mercy at the Fore Campaign for Mercy's hospital on Portland's Fore River.
Most recently, Fogarty served as the Community Engagement Officer at Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice, where he leg organizational marketing, communications, development, and community relations.
The advancement department at The Salvation Army incorporates donor-centric best practices found in major gift projects, charitable gift planning, annual giving programs, grant proposals, fundraising events, capital campaigns, and more.

While originally from New York City, Fogarty has been part of the Northern New England community for many years. His contributions as a resource development and institutional advancement executive throughout New England have been marked by his dedication to excellence in donor-centric fundraising and institutional advancement. Fogarty currently resides in Auburn, Maine, with his family.
