Niagara Falls: Debbie

Apr 2, 2020 | by Empire State Division

Debbie called on behalf of her mother, who had never had to use a food pantry before.  Since the start of “social distancing”, Debbie had been buying and making food for and supporting food needs for 3 households, hers, her mother’s, and her grandmother’s.

With everyone on very limited incomes she just couldn’t keep up any longer with the added time, travel and most of all, expenses. But the thought of her mother and elderly grandmother catching this virus was unbearable. She called multiple food pantries in the area but The Salvation Army of Niagara Falls was the first one to pick up. We let her know that we’d be by later to drop off the food at each household. You could hear the weight lift off of her as we finished the call.
