Spiritual formation

is an integral part of the Cadet experience
and an intentional part of the CFOT community

Spiritual Formation has a sustaining role in the training of future officer through the shaping of the human spirit towards maturity in Christ. Our goal is to ultimately engender in the officer a commitment to a lifelong process of growth toward wholeness in Christ.

While every aspect of training could be classified as spiritual formation it is the function of the spiritual formation department to assist the cadets in developing the inner disciplines necessary for faithful service as “Blood and Fire” Officers by learning a deeper meaning of discipleship that they will apply in future leadership settings being opened in spirit and in truth to the essential nature of self-denial and self-discipline during the training process.

The Spiritual formation department introduces the cadets to the spiritual disciplines as well as community discipleship and devotional activities.  Each week the cadet body gathers in settings designed for corporate spiritual formation.  These community gatherings are held Monday through Friday in the following sequence:

Mondays (11:30-12:20) – Prayer Meeting

Tuesdays (8:40-9:10) –Morning Devotions

Wednesdays (1:30-2:20) – Spiritual Formation groups

Thursdays (8:40-9:10) – Morning Devotions

Fridays (11:30-12:20) – Assembly
