Accreditation

Candidate for Accreditation is a status of preliminary affiliation with the Commission initially awarded for two years. Candidacy does not assure eventual accreditation.

 

 The Salvation Army, Eastern Territory USA, College for Officer Training, is currently undergoing review for initial accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.  When an institution is undergoing review, the Commission requires the College’s chief executive officer to notify the campus community and public of the opportunity for submission of third-party comments and how to do so.  Any member of the college community or public may submit a third-party comment by completing the Commission’s online third-party comment form, available via the institution’s website or the Commission’s (ACCJC) website.  In order to ensure evaluation of the applicable third-party comments by the peer review team, submission of comments must be received by Commission staff no later than five weeks before the peer review team visit.  The evaluation visit will occur on November 4, 2024. The college will be provided an opportunity to review applicable third-party comments.  Following is the link for third-party comments.

College Certification

College certification includes licensing by the New York State Board of Regents as a specialized institution of higher education under Section 52.22 of the State Education Law.

The College is qualified to train veterans and other eligible persons under the provision of Public Law #92-540 of the G.I. Bill of Rights.
