ANNOUNCEMENT

The Salvation Army College for Officer Training, Eastern Territory, USA, is announcing an application for new accreditation as a post-secondary educational institution (college). Currently, the college was accredited by the New York State, Board of Regents, and Commissioner of Education, however, this Board has elected to cease all accreditation activity. The College for Officer Training (CFOT), therefore, has immediately applied to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) to maintain accredited status, helping to ensure transferability of academic credits for cadets and qualification to support study of non-citizen, foreign students on our campus, consistent with Department of Immigration. The CFOT has been reviewed and evaluated as meeting the Eligibility Requirements for accreditation by ACCJC in 2022 and has submitted the required Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) in January, 2023; we are hereby announcing that the Accrediting Commission (ACCJC) will visit the College to assess Candidacy for accreditation from April 17 to 21 of this year. In advance of this visit, the CFOT is soliciting comments from third party individuals or groups, to ACCJC, regarding our application; comment forms can be completed by clicking HERE if interested.
