SCHEDULE:  Full Time

FUNCTION: This person will meet with individuals/families who are seeking financial support given by The Salvation Army in Dayton. Through an assessment process, they will evaluate the need to determine The Salvation Army response. They will provide excellent service to all who participate in functions held at the Kroc Center. In conjunction, they will keep as a priority, the promoting of the Christian faith and values in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred candidate must have an Associate’s degree, Bachelor of Science in Social Work or related field, or case management experience.
  • Ideal candidate would be fluent / proficient / conversant in Spanish
  • Strong creative and communication skills
  • Case management experience
  • Administrative skills
  • Experience in networking with others
  • Able to multi-task and meet hard deadlines
  • Able to work in a team environment

SCHEDULE: Part Time – Seasonal (15 weeks)
Seasonal (33 weeks) Monday to Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm (20 hours per week)
Fall Session: September 2, 2025 to November 21, 2025.
Spring Session: January 20, 2026 to May 8, 2026

FUNCTION: Our Strong Kids, Healthy Kids (SK2) after-school program's After School Classroom Leaders to run a classroom of youth from grades Kindergarten to 8th Grade. SK2 is a free program for our community. We have 80 students in our program that are from various cultural and social economic backgrounds. The Classroom Leader will implement the program and schedule that the Education Programing Specialist has created for the semester for their classroom. The nature of the tasks and responsibilities will change to some degree based upon the program they are assisting in; but their character and attitude must always promote the Christian faith and be in keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, take the lead when needed, and follow the directions of The Salvation Army Team.
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Must have the ability to work and relate well with individuals with varying needs.
  • Be able to handle difficult situations in a professional manner.
  • Have some experience working with children in a traditional or non-traditional (Sunday School, Scouts) setting.
  • Must possess an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Display good character through words and actions

FUNCTION: The person in this position will fill a variety of needs and support the Food Service and Events department.  They will function in a team environment.  They will provide a high quality atmosphere/environment allowing for the various programs to thrive.  They will provide excellent service to all who participate in functions held at the Kroc Center.  Their character and attitude must always promote the principles in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred one year of culinary school completed and continuing to work on degree. Or equivalent cooking experience in quality food establishments.
  • Preferred 2 years of professional cooking experience.
  • Preferred proficiency with knife skills such as dice, chop and julienne.
  • A person of good character
  • Able to follow directions
  • Willing to work a variety of schedules as needed
  • Must be able to work well with others

SCHEDULE: Part-Time / Tech Center
Must have open availability during Tech Center hours

FUNCTION: The Tech Center Member Services Representative will serve as part of the Kroc Center Education Department.  They will function in a team environment and be a role model to both youth and adults.  In conjunction, they will keep as a priority, the educational nurturing of each individual, child or adult that they work with; promoting the Christian faith and values in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong computer skills as it relates to using technology to teach and instruct individuals
  • Genuine interest in helping others to learn basic computer and photography skills
  • An enthusiasm for working with youth
  • Good communication skills and team collaboration skills

SCHEDULE: Full Time – Up to 29 hours per week

FUNCTION: The person in this position will fill all soccer program needs and will assist with other programs as directed by their management.  The Soccer Specialist will work a varied schedule based on the activities throughout the year.  The nature of the task and responsibilities will change to some degree based upon the program they are assisting in; but their character and attitude must always promote the Christian faith and be in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A person of good character
  • Able to follow directions
  • Willing to work a variety of schedules as needed for programming
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • If this person will be needed to drive as part of their responsibilities, then they will need to have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Salvation Army 12-passenger driving test

FUNCTION: The Salvation Army Bell Ringer must be able to stand for an extended period of time while ringing the bell greeting customers and acknowledging guests.  The Bell Ringer is responsible for securing donations for The Salvation Army to be used for services in our community.

• Have a pleasant, outgoing personality
