SCHEDULE: Full–Time (Seasonal) May 22 – August 2, 2024 / No camp week of July 1-5 Shifts are Monday – Friday between 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

FUNCTION: This employee will serve as part of the summer day camp team ensuring a high quality of camp programming for children ages 6-12 years of age. He/she will assist in carrying out the vision and objectives established by the Kroc Center Administrators and Education Department Manager. He/she will help plan and incorporate creative activities that support that vision. He/she will provide a supportive environment to promote Christian faith and value in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army and serve as a role model for children and youth, mentoring in appropriate ways.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. One year of experience working with children or youth
2. Eighteen years of age and high school graduate
3. Must be available from May 22 -Aug 2, 2024, Monday-Friday; 7:30 am – 5:30 pm (No camp July 1 – July 5)
4. Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, take the lead when needed, and follow the direction of Education Department staff and The Salvation Army Officers
5. Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly, in English
6. Must have the ability to work and relate well with individuals with varying needs and understand age-appropriate social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual development and contribute to the well-being of each camper.
7. Must be able to handle difficult situations/confrontations in a professional manner
8. Must possess an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army
9. Experience with public speaking, organization, and leading small groups.

FUNCTION: Provides administrative support on Kroc Center Campus and Area Services. Administrative support in the fundraising process throughout the year. Provide excellent service to all who participate in functions held at the Kroc Center. QUALIFICATIONS:
• Administrative degree or equivalent experience working in Senior-level administrative office

• Computer skills – able to work in Microsoft Office programs – proficient with at least Word and Excel. Ability to learn multiple donor database programs.

SCHEDULE: Full Time
FUNCTION: This person will meet with individuals/families who are seeking financial support given by The Salvation Army in Dayton. Through an assessment process, they will evaluate the need to determine The Salvation Army response; advocating for needed services, connecting clients to additional resources, intervening in crises, and providing personal support. Will maintain appropriate records through an internal database, logging services rendered. This person will be responsible for researching, implementing, and coordinating the development of additional services for the community with input/guidance from the Support Services Manager and the Corps Officers. They will also represent the Kroc Center at various community events, engaging with families with the goal of connecting them to the Kroc Center’s programs and services. They will provide excellent service to all who participate in programs/services held at the Kroc Center. In conjunction, they will keep as a priority, the promoting of the Christian faith and values in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferred Bachelor of Science in Social Work, or other related field
• Ideal candidate would be fluent / proficient / conversant in Spanish

FUNCTION: The person in this position will fill a variety of needs and support the Food Service and Events department. They will function in a team environment. They will provide high quality food service that will allow the various programs to thrive. They will provide excellent service to all who participate in functions held at the Kroc Center. Their character and attitude must always promote the principles in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferred at least one year of culinary school or equivalent cooking experience in quality food establishment
• Preferred 2 years of professional cooking experience
• Preferred proficiency with knife skills such as dice, chop, and julienne.

SCHEDULE: Full-time. Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in order to fulfill duties as outlined.

Function: This is a ministry-centered (religious) role. The Ministry Assistant will serve in support of the Corps Officer and a team member who builds the bridge between the church and the community and vice versa.  They will be intimately and integrally involved in the ministry of the Corps, (church) including teaching, leading, and preaching the Gospel Message.   The Ministry Assistant will be involved in Corps Administration; Youth, Social, Sports Ministries; and Community Relations.  Their character and attitude must always promote the principles in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in Children and/or Youth Ministry Programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Youth / Children Ministry (or related ministry field) preferred.
  • A Uniformed Salvationist in good standing, with a willingness to soldier at the Dayton Kroc Center is preferred. Must attend The Salvation Army services on Sunday mornings.
  • Must uphold Biblical standards in personal and professional life, including fiscal support of the Corps (church) Ministry.
  • Responsible, accountable, respectful, positive role model and be able to follow instructions.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standard of professionalism and confidentiality during and after employment, in all matters.
  • Coordinate effective flow of work through the Worship & Arts office for the Corps and programs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to read and write effectively; follow written instructions, adhere to policies and procedures of The Salvation Army.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs is required.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and a willingness to drive a 12-passenger van.
