Payment & Cancelation/Refund Policy

Payment Policy

Sports Camp has a limited number of spots available for participants. Because of this limitation, we have instituted a payment policy to ensure that all registered children genuinely intend to attend camp. Failure to comply with this policy will result in removing one or more weeks of camp for each applicable child.

The price for each week of camp varies from child to child. The winter discount, early bird registration, and scholarships may reduce the amount due per week of camp for each child registered. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to pay the correct amount on time.

Registrations will be accepted until May 18 if space is available in camp.

The price for Sports Camp may be paid at once or split into multiple payments.

Payment plan dates:

  • The first payment is due at the time of registration. The time of registration will determine if you are eligible for any early sign-up discounts.
  • The next payment is due February 15.
  • The final payment is due March 15.
  • Early sign-up is recommended to take full advantage of this payment plan.

Any child whose account does not meet the deadlines listed above will be removed from camp. Any early sign-up discounts will be forfeited. If they are later re-added upon completion of payment, only discounts that are valid at the time of re-adding may be applied.

Exceptions may apply to children registered before a deadline but have a scholarship application pending approval. These exceptions are to be determined by a manager on a case-by-case basis.

Cancelation/Refund Policy

If you should need to cancel registration for Sports Camp, you may do so at any time. Any refund provided will be based on the amount already paid, the date the cancelation is requested, and the balance due.

Cancelation/Refund Dates:
100%- Cancelation: requests made before or on April 30, 2025 will receive a 100% refund.
50%- Cancelation: requests made between May 1, 2025, and May 14, 2025 will receive a 50% refund.
Any cancelations made on or after May 15, 2025, will not receive a refund.*

*If you must cancel any week of camp after May 15, 2025, due to extenuating circumstances, you may be eligible for a refund. A committee of Kroc managers and administrators will decide on a case-by-case basis if a refund is permissible. A $20 processing fee will be withheld from any registration refunded due to extenuating circumstances. If this applies to you, please submit your reason by email to Erin May.

We do not have a registered nurse on staff, therefore, we can only administer life-saving medication such as an Epi-Pen or Inhaler. We can not administer other medication.

You don't have to be a member to register for camp. It is available to everyone regardless of location or income.

Sports Camp will provide daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Our food program follows the guidelines set forth by the USDA so campers receive healthy, well-balanced meals every day. The Dayton Kroc Center staff pride ourselves on the quality of our food service and we're confident meal times will be one of your child’s favorite activities.

Before assuming job responsibilities, the camp staff attend pre-camp staff training. This training includes, but is not limited to:

  • The Salvation Army Church mission and doctrines
  • The Kroc Center purpose statement and intended impact
  • Effective leadership and communication techniques
  • Developmental needs of campers to be served
  • Introduction to diversity and inclusion
  • Camp activities and daily schedule
  • Safety considerations, skills progression, competencies and risk management required for program activities
  • Age-appropriate behavior management and camper supervision techniques to help create a physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually healthy camp environment
  • Sensitive issue training
  • Certification in first-aid, CPR and AED
  • Electronic behavior management, incident, injury, illness online completion and submission
  • Recognition, prevention, and reporting of child abuse
  • Emergency procedures and staff member’s role in implementation
  • Appropriate use of technology
  • Resources to engage campers throughout the camp day

We strive to make our program accessible for ALL children. Unfortunately, the Kroc Center cannot provide specialized one-to-one care for any individual child. Children are accepted on a case-by-case basis and are required to function within our program ratios.

If your child needs a camp to meet their special need, below are some resources to help you find the right camp.

We cannot promise that a child will be placed in the same group as his/her friends. There are various factors that play into how the camp groups are selected, potentially impacting which group your child is placed in. Camp is a great time for kids to make new friends, so even if they aren't in the same group as their already existing friends, they will still create new and fun relationships with their group mates.

Sports Camp will not have any field trips. It is offered the weeks before and after Camp Kroc.
