Local Leadership

Commanding Officers

The Salvation Army--Serving Lancaster and Fairfield County is under the leadership of Majors Bryan and Laura DeMichael, who were appointed as Corps Commanding Officers in June 2014. The DeMichaels come from extensive Salvation Army backgrounds, dating back five generations. Fairfield County is the DeMichaels fourth Worship and Service Center in command as a married team.  As of June 2019, the DeMichaels' became the longest tenured officers in the 120-year history of The Salvation Army in Fairfield County.

Major Bryan DeMichael is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations, and Malone University with a Master of Arts in church administration and leadership. Major Laura DeMichael is a graduate of The Salvation Army’s School for Officers Training with an associate’s degree in occupational leadership. Both Bryan and Laura received their ordination as Salvation Army officers from The Salvation Army’s School for Officers Training in Suffern, NY.

The DeMichaels have one daughter, Madison, and are proud to call Lancaster home.
