Ferida

My name is Ferida and I am 22 years old.  I have a five-year-old son.  My husband recently took a job in Kuwait.  It was expensive to get the visa and airfare, but he is committed to  staying there five years with the sole purpose of saving enough money to return to his family permanently and begin some type of business. 

While my husband is away, I take care of our son, who is not yet in school.  I have a small chicken farm to supplement my income and I make as many of the embroidered hearts as I can to bring in enough money to support myself. 

I joined the Others program five months ago, and I am grateful for the opportunity to earn income and learn new skills like embroidery. 

I am proud of what I have already accomplished and I know I can do more as I continue to work hard.
