Saratoga Springs: Alena

Apr 2, 2020 | by Empire State Division

On the last food box delivery this past Friday, we met Alena, who had just been laid off from her job. Her anxiety ran high as she realized her last paycheck would have to last until unemployment funds began. Her future felt uncertain. The food we delivered somehow gave her the hope she needed. She was so glad to be able to share her food with her friend, who had also been laid off. She said,  "it's so nice to know that there are people who care. We are going to be alright."
