We're here to help.

The needs are greater than ever. The Salvation Army recognizes that many of our Boston-area neighbors are struggling to make ends meet. If you or a loved one need assistance or someone to talk to, our Social Services Team is here to help. We believe that helping others creates hope for a better tomorrow.

Throughout the intake process, our Salvation Army caseworkers will assist you in identifying factors that might be contributing to your challenges. We will identify areas where we can directly provide assistance and make referrals to partner organizations as needed.

Our holistic approach of meeting needs wherever they are found allows The Salvation Army to help you in a way that reduces the likelihood of future crisis and aims to prevent homelessness.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, The Salvation Army has seen a huge uptick in residents needing food, holiday, rent & utility, and other assistance. We anticipate that these needs will only continue to grow. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact us today.

The Salvation Army offers a variety of programs in our area to help individuals and families in need. Learn more below.

Pathway of Hope

The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope program provides targeted services to families wanting to break the generational cycle of poverty and enable a path out of constant crisis. Our case management approach focuses on your individual needs and different life skills.

This program is designed to have an impact on how poverty affects multiple generations. By positively changing the lives of parents, The Salvation Army can create better living conditions for children. Support programs for children in their developmental years is crucial.

Emergency Food Pantry

Are you struggling with the cost of food bills? By supplying free fresh produce, canned goods, and healthy frozen items, our food pantries provide valuable meal supplementation while helping those in need maintain their independence and dignity. Our food pantries are especially crucial in “food deserts,” where entire communities experience food insecurity due to lack of grocery store access.

Our office provides emergency assistance to residents in the 02121, 02125, and 02127 zip codes. If you live outside these areas and require emergency assistance from The Salvation Army, please call 617-542-5420 or visit www.salvationarmyma.org to find the location nearest to you.
