Summer Day Camp in the City at Buffalo Area Services
The Salvation Army in Buffalo provides over 15 programs and services to those in need in the community. From helping with job searches in Employment Services to our providing a safe, fun place for children in our Summer Day Camp, we assist every member of the family.
For many parents, working full time and finding a safe place for their children to be while they work is a struggle each Summer. The Salvation Army’s Summer Day Camp provides a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with well-trained counselors, music instructors, and certified athletic trainers for children ages 5-12 years old. Children in camp participate in a wide variety of daily activities like sports, leadership challenges, educational adventures, and field trips. By the end of the Summer, our campers, like Nolan, aren’t ready to leave.
“Nolan came to Summer Day Camp not knowing what to expect and wasn’t sure if he would like it here. This was his first time at The Salvation Army Summer Day Camp as he usually attended camps near his home in Clarence. However, Nolan made friends fast and really enjoyed all the art and crafts projects as well as playing soccer during gym time. By the end of camp, Nolan had the staff in tears because he didn’t want camp to be over – he told everyone they all better be at camp next year too.”
