Events

Join us at the Philadelphia Kroc Center on Thursday, June 12, 2025, for an evening of unity, healing, and hope at our “Spread Love Not Bullets” Gun Violence Awareness Event. From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., our community will come together to take a stand against gun violence through powerful conversations, peaceful activities, and a heartfelt prayer walk.
The evening kicks off with an inspiring symposium led by Rev. David W. Brown, Executive Director of the Civic Coalition to Save Lives. With a focus on healthy behavioral practices and mindfulness, this session will offer real tools and insight into how we can all be part of the solution to end gun violence.
At 5:45 p.m., we’ll take our message outside for a Prayer Walk of Healing, circling the cross and planting flags in honor of lives lost to gun violence. It’s a powerful opportunity to reflect, remember, and uplift one another as a community.
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., you’re invited to take part in peaceful, family-friendly activities that promote connection and well-being. Whether it’s Ball Against Violence, Swim Against Violence, a triathlon challenge, soccer, or simply playing in peace, there’s something meaningful for everyone. You can also plant a seed in honor of a loved one, creating a living tribute to those we’ve lost and the future we’re building.
Let’s come together to spread love, not bullets. For more information, reach out to Veda Brown, Community Liaison, at 215-558-1531 or Veda.Brown@use.salvationarmy.org
