Full-Time Benefits

Health Insurance Plan: Single and family coverage is available, with two (2) plan options; employee cost is determined by plan selection; becomes effective the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment. 

Dental, Vision, & Hearing Coverage: Single and family coverage is available, with two (2) plan options; employee cost is determined by plan selection; becomes effective the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment. 

Group Basic Life Insurance: Includes $20,000 in coverage at no cost to the employee (additional coverage may be available at employee expense); becomes effective the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment. 

Flexible Spending Account: Pre-tax savings plan (deducted from employee paycheck) that can be used for defined health related expenses throughout the year (deduction amount limited); becomes effective the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment. 

Long Term Disability Insurance: Employee expense for this benefit is related to employee compensation, age, and specific coverage selected;  becomes effective after 90-day probationary period.  

Personal Days: Up to 3 paid days per year; becomes effective after 90-day probationary period and total days, in first year of employment, are subject to date of hire.

Marriage Leave: Up to 5 paid days of leave (restrictions apply); becomes effective after a full year of employment.

Bereavement Leave: Up to 5 days per calendar year for defined family members (see employee benefits manual); becomes effective after 3 months of employment.

Jury Duty: Up to 7 days of paid leave (restrictions beyond 7 days); becomes effective after 90-day probationary period.

Educational Assistance: Becomes available after one year of service and is approved based upon supervisor recommendation, employee performance review, and within the limits of the department financial budget.

Will Preparation Service: Becomes effective with the effective date of group life insurance plan (Hyatt Legal, phone and group number available through HR).

Full & Part-Time Benefits

403(B) Tax Deferred Annuity Plan (Mutual of America): Pre-tax savings plan, with all contributions from the employee’s paycheck;  employee has several investment options available; this option is available upon hire.

401(A) Pension Plan: On first day of calendar quarter following 1 year of service, SA contributes 6% of the employee’s annual compensation (there is no match required). There are several investment options available. Employee is 50% vested after 5 years of service.

Vacation Leave: Accrued based on work status (full time or part time) and years of service.  However, typically exempt employees receive up to 4 weeks of accrued time and non-exempt employees receive up to 2 weeks of accrued time in the first year of employment. 

Sick Leave: Up to 1 day per month is accrued (less for PT); up to 10 full weeks of accrual can be stored (excess is paid at a portion of value at the end of each year). 

Recognized Holiday Pay: Based on the approved holiday schedule each year (currently, there are 13 recognized annual holidays that qualify for holiday hours pay).  

Group Term Life Insurance: Defined amounts of dependent coverage can be purchased (payroll deduction applies); becomes effective the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment.

Short Term Disability Insurance: At no cost to the employee, STD pays 66 2/3% of employee’s average weekly salary  for up to 26 weeks in the event the employee is unable to work due to a non-work related injury or illness (limitations apply).

AFLAC: Offers supplemental insurance coverage (beyond basic health coverage); becomes effective the 1st day of the month following 90-day probationary period. Premiums are paid by employee.

Family Medical Leave: Eligible employee jobs are protected for up to 12 weeks (benefit time is used, as available, during this time).

Christmas Financial Bonus: Determined by length of service with SA and prorated for PT employees.

Employee Service Award: This award is provided at various milestone anniversary years.

Homeowners & Auto Insurance Discounts: Becomes effective after 90-day probationary period (specific acct info is available through HR).

Workers Compensation: Dictated by state laws related to work related injury; all work related injuries should be reported to HR dept.
