Aquatics Attendant

Schedule: Part-time. Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as will be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.

Position Description: The Aquatics Attendant is an hourly, year-round position. Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Manager, the person in this position monitors access to the aquatics facility, maintains log of patrons, checks to assure that minors are properly accompanied by guardians and that aquatic center rules and regulations are being followed, documents and reports issues, and ensures that only authorized patrons use the facility. Assists with walk in traffic, provides a wide variety of program and facility information to patrons and public.

Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement required. PA state lifeguard certification required. Prior work experience as a lifeguard in PA preferred. Current CPR/AED required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Must have ability to work and relate well with people. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearances and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Early Childhood Education Teacher & Administrative Assistant

Schedule: Full Time

Position Description: The Early Childhood Education Center Teacher/ Administrative Assistant it to assist the ECEC Director with the administrative tasks for STARS, DHS, CBS, Enrollment, and other administrative support. This position acts as the Supervisor on Duty in the absence of the ECEC Supervisor and or ECEC Director. The Teacher/ Administrative Assistance assumes role to support maintaining ratios throughout the ECEC program .

Requirements: Previous work-related experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Minimum Associate Degree in ECE or related field. Ability to accurately type 45-50 words per minute. Proficiency in the following personal computer software application is required; Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Explorer; working knowledge Power Point a plus. Superior customer service skills. Ability to work independently. Excellent secretarial skills to include organization, filing, proofreading, follow up systems and professional communication skills are necessary. Must be able to communicate clearly in English both written and verbally. Must possess professional telephone skills. Must possess the ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements: The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, school age care, child development or other child-related field; will consider individuals with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education currently working towards a bachelor’s degree. A minimum of one year on the job training in providing a nurturing indoor/outdoor environment and meeting the child’s out of home needs. Candidate must have one plus years of experience under qualified supervision working as a teacher serving the ages and developmental abilities of the children in care. Candidate will be required to have a valid certificate in pediatric first aid, including CPR. Thorough knowledge of normal child development and early childhood education, as well as knowledge of indicators that a child is not developing typically. The ability to respond appropriately to children’s needs in addition to the ability to recognize signs of illness and safety/injury hazards and respond with prevention interventions. This position requires effective oral and written communication skills. Sound judgment and emotional maturity is requisite. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Requirements: The successful candidate will possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent; an Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or comparable. A minimum of one year on-the-job training in providing a nurturing indoor/outdoor environment meeting the child’s out-of-home needs. One year (plus) of experience under qualified supervision working as a teacher serving the ages and developmental abilities of the children in care. Educator

Schedule: Part-time (up to 19 per week) (3:30PM- 7:30PM)

Position Description: The Educator will assist with the development of the Sunoco Foundation Learning Center After School Program initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a strong aptitude for Science, Math and computer literacy. The participant must be innovative in their approach to teaching and introducing new academic concepts and ideas to the program participants. This position will act as a role model for students, multi-task/circulate between multiple students on varying grade levels; general oversight demonstrating effective classroom management in the Kroc Homework Zone. Effectively and consistently deliver high-quality instruction.

Requirements: High School Diploma, College Degree preferred. Minimum of two years working with children, preferably in an urban community, having demonstrated success in educating students. Must possess a belief that all students should be held to high achievement standards. Must be resilient, persistent, collaborative, and professional. Must possess a positive, high-energy attitude and a drive for excellence. A strong sense of personal accountability. Must possess a proven ability to multi-task can circulate between multiple students on varying grade levels. Environmental Services Associate

Schedule: Full Time up to 40 hours weekly, Part-Time Plus(up to 20 hours per week) and Part Time(up to 19 hours per week) (Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as may be required in performance of duties or requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.)

Position Description: The Environmental Services Associate will be responsible for the hands-on day-to-day cleanliness of the physical facilities of the RJKCCC, in accordance with Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility as directed by the Facilities Supervisor/Facilities Manager or Administrator, to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and clean manner.

Requirements: Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least one year experience of professional cleaning experience. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English. The successful candidate will possess working knowledge of cleaning supplies/equipment and tools of the trade. Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills; be a team player. Understand and be willing to extend superior customer service. This position requires the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather and ability to move about the Kroc Center freely. Family Resource Center Clerk

Schedule: Part Time (19 hours weekly) - Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as may be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.

Position Description: The KFRC Clerk is responsible for greeting visitors, answering phones, assisting with sign-ups for various Education Ministries Programs and performs general office duties for the Kind Family Resource Center.

Requirements: Previous work-related experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to accurately type 45-50 words per minute. Finance Assistant

Schedule: Full Time

Position Description: The Finance Assistant will assist the Finance Manager in the daily operations of the RJKCCC Finance Department, with primary focus on maintaining accounts payables in Serenic, billing of third party memberships, preparing credit applications, developing databases to track internal trends, and overseeing income generated by RJKCCC programs.

Requirements: Associate degree in accounting or related field, with minimum 1-3 years work experience in an accounting or a related position. Must have the ability to develop healthy, professional relationships, both internal and external, and maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving. Must possess the ability to multi-task. Must be able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment. Must have an appreciation for the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Must be able to function effectively without supervision. Computer skills experience required. Must possess or have the ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Serenic and CCMS software. Must possess knowledge of operating office machines such as telephones, printers, copiers, calculators, etc. Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Must be able to lift and carry at least 10 pounds. Must possess understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army and the RJKCCC. Fitness Specialist

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Description: The Fitness Specialist provides comprehensive fitness services to members and guests ofthe Center. The use of superior customer service in providing innovative programming to each Center member is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the Kroc Center team in all areas of center operation, as needed and assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Exercise Science or related health/fitness field. Prior work experience or successfully completed internship in fitness industry preferred. Personal training certification (ACSM, NASM or NSCA) preferred. Current CPR/AED required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must have ability to work and relate well with people. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Lifeguard

Schedule: Part-time, under 20 hours per week; must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Position Description: The Lifeguard assures the safe utilization of all aquatic areas by members and guests. Job responsibilities include: the supervision of member and guest use of the aquatics facility, participates in the daily maintenance and cleaning of pool areas, equipment related to pool use, and emergency equipment, instruct participants in swimming or other recreational activities and provide safety precaution information, inspect recreational equipment for safety hazards/damage/wear, rescue distressed persons using rescue techniques and equipment, contact emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury, complete and maintain records required for use of facility, emergency medical treatments performed, and other relevant incident information, and performs related duties as assigned. The use of superior customer service in providing oversight of these areas is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the Kroc Center team in all areas of center operation, as needed and assigned.

Member Services Associate

Schedule: Full Time

Position Description: The Member Service Associate will provide the highest level of customer service to prospects, center members and guests related to facility and membership information, enrollment procedures, ongoing customer satisfaction and membership recruitment and retention.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Sales and Marketing or related field preferred, with previous a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the sales field. Excellent sales, marketing, research and tracking skills required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to scheduling appointments for prospects and the members. Must be able to read write and communicate in English; proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work and relate well with people. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Nights & Weekends Coordinator

Schedule: 1 Part-Time up to 29 hours weekly (Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as may be required in performance of duties or requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.)

Position Description: The Evening and Weekend Coordinator (EWC) will provide oversight to all operating departments during the non-traditional workday. The EWC will assure that all operating departments are appropriately staffed and will provide leadership support in areas that include (but are not limited to) 1) customer interactions, 2) rules enforcement throughout the center, 3) center-wide emergency response, 4) communication with internal and external vendors, and 5) campus closing procedures that assure the safety of all users and staff and the security of the campus. The EWC will assure alignment of all staff efforts in support of The Salvation Army mission and the Kroc Center vision. The EWC will work to learn, understand and apply The Salvation Army policies and procedures that will assure continuation of the Kroc Center’s nonprofit, 501(c) status.

Requirements: 

  • College degree in business or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of general business and/or operations supervisory experience, preferably in areas that include health and wellness, recreation, and aquatics, with an emphasis placed on customer service and staff relations.
  • Ability to complete work in compliance with Salvation Army policy and procedures.
  • Previous experience in working in a not-for-profit environment desirable.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, principles and processes related to exemplary customer service, including needs assessment and evaluation of standards related to quality improvement.
  • Must be willing to engage in complex problem solving by 1) reviewing relevant information, both individually and with others, 2) developing multiple options to solve issue, 3) considering the impact of all possible solutions, and 4) arriving at the most appropriate action that will benefit both the center and those involved (members, guests, staff).
  • Create and foster an environment of interdepartmental cooperation, with an emphasis on strategies that promote teamwork, productivity, and accountability.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with consistent emphasis on communicating with both internal and external customers in a professional, positive, and service-focused manner.
  • Be able to identify and communicate a shared vision of Kroc Center success, recognizing the center’s overall accomplishments as a function of the efforts of each department to meet its established objectives.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Possess knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling Kroc’s many services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, demonstrations, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Be willing and able to monitor and assess performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements and/or take corrective action.

 

Play Care Associate

Schedule: Part Time – under 20 hours per week - Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as may be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.

Position Description: The Play Care Associate provides safe, fun, and secure care to children of Kroc Center members and guests. Each Associate will provide age-appropriate activities and experiences for those assigned to his/her care. The use of superior customer service in providing such care to each child is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the Kroc Center team in all areas of center operation, as needed and assigned.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED, or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement required. Education or experience in a child care or related setting preferred. Current CPR/AED required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Must have ability to work and relate well with people. Must have an appreciation for and be able to embrace the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Recreation Assistant

Schedule: Part Time (up to 19 hours weekly) - varying hours based on scheduled events, evenings and weekends required

Position Description: The Recreation Assistant II will help develop and implement traditional and non-traditional recreational activities, giving direct supervision to same as assigned in the gymnasium, and throughout the RJCCC campus. The RA II will also assist with the coordination of recreational activities for the afterschool program, day camp, Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC), and the Sunoco Foundation Learning Center (SLFC).

Requirements: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Recreation, Sports Management or related health/fitness field. Prior work experience or successfully completed internship in field of study preferred. Detail oriented. Ability to work with a diverse population, including various age ranges. Must be safety conscious. Must possess ability to provide excellent customer service. Must possess excellent program development skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English. Must be able to handle difficult situations/confrontations in a professional manner. Must possess a valid Driver’s License with two or less violations (moving or accident) over the past two years. Must possess the ability to pass the online Salvation Army Fleet Safety Driver’s Test. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Safety Associate

Schedule: Part-time Plus (up to 29 hours per week) - Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as will be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.

Position Description: The Kroc Safety Associate is responsible for the safety and security of the entire RJKCCC facility and its guests, volunteers, and employees. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall security of the Kroc Center campus by patrolling all designated areas on foot and enforcing Center rules, regulations and codes of conduct.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years prior experience in security or related field. Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment. Possess good Guest Service skills; must be able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations. Able to stand; walk for extended periods of time; must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demand of the Kroc Center job site. This position requires the ability to work well with others while responding to direction and feedback. Must possess or be able to acquire within 30 days of employment a First aide/CPR certification card. Able to read, write, and clearly communicate in English. Must possess a valid Driver’s License; must possess the ability to pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Driver’s Test. Must be able to function effectively without supervision. Must pass the Salvation Army Fleet Safety Driver’s Test. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Youth Ministries Coordinator

Schedule: Full time - Must be willing and able to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays as will be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center church ministries

Position Description: The Youth Ministries Coordinator (KYMC) will be responsible for the development and oversight of all youth ministries with the goal of youth becoming devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The KYMC is charged with the responsibility of growing youth ministries in meaningful ways. The KYMC will attend Sunday worship services, stay current with youth ministry practices by reading and attending youth leadership conferences.

Requirements: Exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; a passion for evangelism and outreach both personally and a ministry level. Must possess High School diploma or equivalent. Must demonstrate mature Christian character with a passion for mission and youth. Must have 1-2 years of progressive youth ministry leadership experience. Must possess developed relational/interpersonal skills. A Salvationist is preferred, but not required. Must be able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment and balance multiple tasks. Must be able to function effectively without supervision. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Possess basic administrative skills which includes familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Must be a team player and be able to work with varied ethnic and socio-economic populations Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends. Must possess the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Must have a valid Pennsylvania State Driver’s License and the ability to operate required fleet vehicle(s). As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse, meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 prior to employment, with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
