Camp SWONEKY

In a lush, wooded setting campers can experience the gifts of God's green earth while learning nature's secrets.

2024 Summer Announcement

We are now accepting applications for children ages 7-13 to attend a week at Camp Swoneky in 2024. Camp Swoneky is a Salvation Army summer camp in Oregonia, Ohio. Below you'll find information about pricing, etc.

Camp SWONEKY, founded in 1912, has a rich history of serving underprivileged children by providing a fun, educational, and inspirational experience in the outdoors. Originally known as Camp Glendale, it was established to offer ten-day camping periods to children referred by social agencies in Hamilton County, Ohio. In 1958, the camp moved to its current location in Warren County, Ohio, under the leadership of Brigadier William E. Chamberlain. The new site was named Camp SWONEKY, an acronym for Southwest Ohio-Northeast Kentucky. Today, Camp SWONEKY continues to thrive, serving over 1,000 children each summer. It also hosts various groups and events throughout the year, promoting spiritual growth, appreciation for nature, and a supportive environment for families.
