Doing the Most to Feed those in Need

Every day The Salvation Army in Central Kentucky helps by providing groceries to those in need.

59% of people seeking food assistance choose between paying for food and paying rent or mortgage.

Each night in the U.S., 17.4 million families go to bed hungry. An additional 6.9 million families experience very low food security. That means they don't always know where their next meal is coming from.

In Kentucky, 662,360 people are struggling with hunger - and 186,660 are children.

As many as 1 in 5 Kentucky children live on the verge of food insecurity.

Those in need can receive assistance through our:

Food Pantry

Our food pantry provides food & groceries for individuals and families in need. Fayette County residents can apply for emergency food assistance. This process requires an interview to determine eligibility as well as identification, a rent receipt, Social Security card and verification of income.

The food pantry in Lexington is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m
